World's Largest Cruise Night brings promotions galore

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA, a trade association that counts 24 cruise lines as members) holds an annual "World's Largest Cruise Night" to help publicize the cruise industry, in conjunction with October being "National Cruise Vacation Month."

This year's World's Largest Cruise Night is tonight, October 17, and it's a good time to look for discounts and incentives from CLIA member lines -- especially since many of them expire tonight or by the end of this week or month.

While the promotions are far too numerous to enumerate here, here are some available today through the big Internet discounter Vacations to Go:

** Azamara is offering shipboard credits of $200-$300 per cabin on selected 2008 cruises; book by December 17, 2007.

** Celebrity is offering shipboard credits of $200 on selected cruises of nine days or more and lesser credits for shorter cruises; book by Friday, October 19.

** Cunard is offering onboard credits of up to $500 per stateroom on selected cruises; book by this Sunday, October 21.

** Princess is offering onboard credits of up to $150 per stateroom on selected cruises; book by October 21.

** Royal Caribbean is offering up to $200 shipboard credits per cabin on selected cruises of 10 days or more; book on October 17 (today).

** Silversea is offering shipboard credits of $250 per stateroom on all remaining 2007 cruises, and $200 per stateroom on selected 2008 cruises; book by October 31.

Other lines offering shipboard credits (which you can use for virtually any expense onboard) include Costa, Disney, MSC, Norwegian, and Regent.
